The D.E.L.E. Certificate (Diplomas en Español como Lengua Extranjera ) is the most recognized and dificult Spanish certificate in the world.

The exam is organized by the Instituto Cervates and the University of Salamaca and issued and recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain.

It is the official accreditation of the degree of fluency of the Spanish Language.

The exam gives certification for 6 different levels using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe as its guidelines. The DELE certification is the most recognized Spanish certification in the world.

The DELE Level A1 certificate accredits that the candidate is capable of understanding common phrases and expressions frequently used in Spanish related to areas of experience which are particularly relevant to them (basic information about themselves and their family, shopping, places of interest, occupations, etc.).

The DELE Level B1 certificate (also known as the \"Certificado Inicial de Español\") shows that the candidates have sufficient knowledge of the Spanish language to handle situations which require an elementary use of the language.

The DELE Level B2 certificate (also known as the "Diploma Básico de Español") shows that the candidates have the necessary knowledge of the Spanish language to allow communication in everyday situations which do not require the use of specialized terms.

This diploma certifies the linguistic ability to understand and recognize implicit meaning in a wide variety of lengthy, difficult texts.

It also certifies the ability to express oneself fluently and spontaneously without showing any signs of making any unnatural effort to find appropriate expressions, and to make flexible, effective use of Spanish within social, academic and professional contexts.

Finally, the diploma certifies the ability to produce clear texts; correct in structure and detail, written about complex topics, and showing the correct use of organization mechanisms, articulation and cohesiveness.

The DELE C2 exam is for a diploma equivalent to the level of Spanish Mastery (C2). This is the sixth of six levels within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe. The DELE C2 exam certifies the linguistic competence necessary to efficiently handle any situation. Those taking the exam must demonstrate the ability to spontaneously adapt to any context with a high level of precision. They must also demonstrate a strong command of subtle nuances that makes for natural fluency in all their interactions.
