Introduction

¡Hola! My name is Ruth and I am a native speaker of Spanish from Mexico. I am certified as a Spanish teacher by the Tía Tula School of Spanish and I have been teaching Spanish to students of all ages since 2014. and Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española (SIELE) by Instituto Cervantes, UNAM, Universidad de Salamanca y Universidad de Buenos Aires

I specialize in teaching Spanish for test preparation (DELE), Spanish for tourism, and Spanish for teachers. I have taught students from the US, Canada, Germany, China, Japan, Singapore, Russia, the Philippines, and Australia. I try to center my classes on my students in order to make them relevant, interesting, and to meet their learning objectives.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, and movies.

Teaching style

I use a communicative approach, helping the student to express their ideas more clearly and fluently.
I like to understand the needs of my students, their learning objectives, their contexts, and I strive to make my class centered in them, adapting it and personalizing it so that it becomes relevant, interesting and significant.
When presenting languages, I am able to complement the deductive and inductive approaches and I like to guide the learner while he/she is the protagonist of their own learning (e.g. Guided Discovery Method).

Spanish (Native), English (Intermediate High-B2).

I've visited or lived in the following countries: Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Perú.
