10.9: Ordering Your Meal - At Restaurant (Ordering Food)

Now let’s practice ordering your meal. When a waiter is ready to take your order, they will typically say either:

¿Qué van a pedir señores?

which means, “what would you like gentlemen?”, or more casually, they may say:

¿Qué va a ser?

Which means “what will it be?”

Your response would be:

“Deme X, por favor”

Where “X” is the food you would like to order.

Let’s try a few. When you hear:

“Rice”

Say:

“Deme arroz, por favor”.
